On March 27, 2014, The TASA Group in conjunction with sports safety expert, James Weagley presented a free, one-hour webinar presentation, What Attorneys Should Know About the Management of Sports-Related Concussions. 

This webinar was designed to provide the attorney with the most recent information about current evaluations and management practices for sports-related concussions when handling these types of cases.  The following topics were covered:

  • Concussion: What it is and what it isn't
  • Professional Roles and Responsibilities: What are the roles of the physician, athletic trainer, coach, parent, and athlete?
  • Evaluation and Management Practices: What do the experts say?
  • Model School Concussion Protocols: What schools should be doing to manage concussions appropriately and safely

About The Presenter

James Weagley is an NATA-certified athletic trainer who has worked for more than 30 years providing services in clinical, collegiate and high school settings.  He holds a Master's Degree in Physical Education and Sports Medicine from East Stroudsburg University.  Mr. Weagley has served as a sports medicine program director for a private orthopedic practice and hospital.  During that time, he developed numerous continuing education programs for medical and health professionals, and educational programs for school and youth league coaches.  Mr. Weagley has also worked as a high school athletic director, serving as the program administrator for all aspects of the interscholastic athletic program.
