Five Legal Liability Issues for Schools

On Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 2 p.m. ET, The TASA Group, Inc., in conjunction with school safety experts Andy Demidont and Dale Yeager, presented a free, one-hour, interactive webinar, Five Legal Liability Issues for Schools, for legal professionals and school administrators.

The webinar covered five key issues related to safety and security problems in elementary, middle and high schools:

About the Experts

The webinar featured two national school safety experts:

Andy Demidont is retired from the Pennsylvania public education system after more than 35 years of service. During Andy’s tenure in public education, he held various positions, including assistant principal, high school principal and school superintendent.

Andy taught graduate education courses at Mansfield University. He has been nominated to serve on a Statewide Task Force on Restructuring of Education in Pennsylvania. Andy is also the recipient of numerous state and national recognition awards.

Mr. Yeager began his education as a criminal analyst in 1988. Mr. Yeager received advanced training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (2005 to 2008).

Mr. Yeager’s company, SERAPH, has provided security and safety consulting to more than 26,000 schools and higher education entities in the U.S.

Mr. Yeager has lectured at many higher education institutions throughout the U.S., such as Drexel and Howard Universities. Mr. Yeager is an instructor for the Neumann University Criminal Justice Program.

In 2002, Mr. Yeager was given a presidential appointment to the U.S. Selective Service System and in 2004, he became a member of the FBI InfraGard program. Mr. Yeager is also a federal law enforcement trainer for the HIDTA and MAGLOCLEN programs.
