Description: This medical/scientific literature expert, researcher and lecturer is an American Society for Clinical Pathology, board-certified, specialist Ph.D. microbiologist who is also a general specialist certified by the American Board of Bioanalysts. She was first to successfully cultivate Pneumocystis carinii in vitro at the height of the HIV/AIDS epidemic and was a member of the original NIH AIDS Working Group. She established the diagnostic virology laboratory at Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital and her medical research publications on Pneumocystis pneumonia appeared in the Yearbooks of Pathology, Clinical Pathology, Cancer and the Pediatric Digest
