In 1961, two industrial psychologists in Philadelphia, who had founded a personnel consulting firm in 1956, interviewed a newly-retired naval officer looking for work. They contacted a maritime lawyer they knew to see if he had advice for their client. By coincidence, the lawyer needed an expert witness to investigate and report on a gangplank accident. He hired the man for his case and settled it favorably, based on the expert’s report. The rest is history.

Our founders discovered a widespread need for a central, reliable source of technical experts to help attorneys and others with case evaluation, preparation, and testimony in court. They recognized that these experts would be valuable consultants for non–litigious projects, also. Technical Advisory Service for Attorneys (TASA) was created to fill those needs, and, for more than 45 years, has grown steadily into a premier service that is known and utilized worldwide.

In 2002, to reflect our expanding expert referral capabilities and our sharper focus, and to underscore our abiding commitment to being The Single Source for all Your Expert Needs ®, we changed our corporate name to The TASA Group, Inc.
